1. Development needs a Moratorium so All Departments can catch up!
2. Traffic lights need to work together. Developers need better turn Lanes. Solar Street Lights. Patrol Cars needed at Blocked Intersections.
3. Crime rate now surpasses NC.
A Temporary Moratorium on Future Development should help all Town Departments catch up! Over 900 Million dollars in Road and Bridge improvement is slated over the next 10 Years! Toll Roads need to have Free Hours to reduce backups. Crime is now 1 in 42 are affected by Crime. More Patrol Vehicles and Officers are needed to reduce Road Rage and Crime.
Mooresville NC is 28 Sq Miles. 598 Employees with 79 Part Time. 181 miles of Town Streets. 17 Parks. 6 Fire Station's. Our Town has 750 miles of Water and Sewer lines along with 139 miles of Sidewalks.
The most important thing needed today is Transparency and Conservative Finance in the Mooresville Town Budget. Land needs to be preserved for future Generations and for EMT. Citizens need to work together for Term Limits, No more Tolls and No more Car Inspections. Home revaluations need a Cap and not out of Control.
Mooresville NC has two Water intakes in Lake Norman and an Interconnection shared water line with Hickory NC without any Contract. Also Mooresville takes Troutman NC WasteWater Sewer in an interlocal agreement of up to 2 Million Gallons a Day of Sewer! While Mooresville uses almost 6 million sewer each day. This is just another reason why our Citizens need Transparency. With 54 Town Facilities we need an AED in everyone of them. Together we can make a huge difference.

I have no actual political experience; I also have to formal education other than a high school degree and some limited community college. I have however throughout my 45 years of transportation experience, attended and trained with many operational, safety, and human resource seminars and conferences. What I do bring 'to the table' is years of common sense, hard work, loyalty and integrity, with the ability to learn, which is why I was able to work my way into management positions at many of the major nationwide transportation companies. It is possible that my lack of actual political experience may be of a benefit, as I won't be influenced, bought, or bribed, as I work for the people, not for myself.
1. attainable/affordable housing - the proper use of conditional rezoning to obtain the most from developers. We need a work force in Mooresville that will be able to actually live in Mooresville.
2. respect and safety - continue to properly fund our police and first responders, have competitive pay and benefits to attract quality people. promote within when at all possible.
3 traffic/transportation - continue construction projects, current and future, encourage a local and dependable form of low-cost transit within the town.
I am not sure how much actual power the mayor has to change policy, I will however do my best to promote policy, to adopt 'best practices', see what is working best for other communities. work with the commissioners and the community through outreach, and encourage input from the citizens, build consensus.
I have been to several 'candidate forums' over the last several weeks. There is a lot of misinformation being said by others, I may have only been a citizen of Mooresville for 3 1/2 years, but I see the positive things this community brings. Sure there will always be persons that look for the negative, and most of the time those with negative thought will not bring viable solutions. We need to look 'behind the curtain', be informed, not influenced by 'naysayers'.
Additionally, I will take a stand on the 'Redline' rail coming from Charlotte, I will oppose the project coming to Mooresville, I don't think it should even come as far as the Iredell county line. It will only bring more traffic, a host of traffic/parking issues, and possibly crime to this area. I see no benefit, and someday the rail may extend to Winston-Salem, how many times during the day do we want to see downtown Mooresville shut down for a commuter rail.
