I am running for my third term. I have had the opportunity over the past 3 1/2 years to really engage residents in order to better understand their concerns for our town. I am a collaborative leader who understands change management and I possess a N.C. law degree.
Smart Growth
Strategic Infrastructure
Strong small businesses
My goal is to work collaboratively with my fellow commissioners and town staff to advocate on behalf of the residents for the needs of the future of our town. It also includes pursuing state and local agencies to explore opportunities that will serve our residents and our town.
Many people are moving to Mint Hill because of its rich character. I understand that we must strategically manage our growth and infrastructure so that we stay in front of the town's thriving future.

Having served three terms as Commissioner for the Town of Mint Hill, I’ve had the privilege of learning firsthand how our town operates and how thoughtful planning today can build a stronger future for tomorrow.
1. Smart, Controlled Growth – I believe in thoughtful development that fits the character of Mint Hill and protects our infrastructure for the future.
2. A Safe, Strong Community – Our first responders deserve the staffing, tools, and support they need to keep every neighborhood safe.
3. Responsible Spending – I’ll continue working with town staff to run Mint Hill efficiently and effectively, without raising local taxes.
I’m committed to being a voice for every resident, whether you’ve just joined our community or have called it home for decades, working to ensure that future growth strengthens our town and our neighbors.
It has been both an honor and a genuine pleasure to serve the Town of Mint Hill. This is not just where I live, it’s where I work, play, and proudly call home. From the first day I took office, I made a simple promise: to be accessible. Whether it’s a question, a concern, or just a good old-fashioned chat about potholes and possibilities, my door (and inbox) have always been open.
If re-elected, I’ll continue that same hands-on, boots-on-the-ground approach, because good governance shouldn’t require an appointment. I believe in listening first, acting thoughtfully, and keeping community engagement at the heart of every decision. Together, we can ensure Mint Hill continues to grow smartly, thrive proudly, and stay the warm, welcoming town we all love

Relatability. Being able to connect with people exactly where they are. Whether engaging an executive board, networking with business leaders on the golf course, or helping a neighbor on their farm, I don't just communicate, I connect. I excel at bridging the divides across all generational, socio-economic, and cultural levels because I genuinely care. My goal is to build trust across all layers of our community, and get people engaged for the health and future of our town. This authentic relatability is what makes me a trustworthy and effective leader, especially when tackling difficult and divisive issues.
1: Traffic
2: Zoning
3: Identity Preservation
Navigating the obvious need for improvements in response to regional growth, all while not overinvesting in sectors that will invite unwanted development, crime, and town identity change is a challenge, and navigating what's best for both our residents and town's future will be a key issue for voters. I plan to work with neighboring municipalities, county and state leadership, as well as look at ways we can safeguard our residents and town with preemptive zoning and developmental decisions.

I’ve spent 30 years accounting and auditing holding a wide variety of positions over the years, primarily for companies in the financial services industry. I understand the concepts of government accounting, budgeting and reporting and how they differ from accounting for public and private entities. I believe I have enough background from my years of auditing to be effective at evaluating real estate development and zoning ordinance requests that are typically put before the town commission. And while I’m semi-retired these days, I still hold an active CPA license.
The way I see it, there are four key issues in this race where we can make life better through good governance right here in Mint Hill. Transparency, development, transportation and more recreational options including an aquatic center.
It’s no secret: There is a lack of transparency to residents from the Town Commission regarding their actions and the underlying rationale for decisions made in the past. Simple emailed newsletters and up to date posting on the town website on what is happening before it’s happening would be a start. I plan on engaging the community to find out what is wanted by the residents. It’s imperative that Commissioners don’t just rubber stamp the status quo but rather have community meetings to engage and gather the input of our town’s residents.
Another area where the Commission hasn’t been as communicative as it could be: development. This is especially important now, as quick, dense growth threatens to overwhelm our existing infrastructure. There is a real concern that efforts in town are being green lit for 'insiders.'
We need to get serious about transportation safety. If the current transit plan and sales tax increase is approved on the November 4th ballot, we need to ensure that significant funding goes toward addressing the many dangerous intersections and widening main thoroughfares in our town.
We need to pay more attention to Mint Hill's parks and recreational facilities. While the new splash pad is a welcome addition for our youngest residents, we should broaden our ambitions with a new Aquatic Center — offering swim lessons, competitive swimming and lifeguard training and senior citizen aquatic exercise classes to develop competent, competitive and healthy swimmers.
