As a 25-year resident of Huntersville, I am known for my dedication to service, history, and preservation of the values that make Huntersville a great place to live. I have served four terms as Huntersville Commissioner; served as Planning Board & Ordinances Advisory Board vice chairs; and am currently co-president of Rotary Club LKN-Huntersville and serve on the Board of Hugh Torrance House & North Meck Crimestoppers.
To lower spending, including cut taxes.
To bring back transparency in all public work.
To revisit our ordinances to manage growth.
We will need to go through the current budget and cut $20K budget retreats, cut donations, cut rental art, etc. Also, we should demand a better seat at the table with the County for our transportation needs. At present, if we pass the proposed permanent sales tax increase, we risk hurting our small businesses because people will go to surrounding counties for their purchases. And we risk hurting households because the increase is actually a 13-14% increase in spending for the lower income populations. Both hurt our communities.

I have a history of community service because I have always been taught that it is what you do for people and their community. As the town faces rapid growth, a new, intelligent voice is needed and I believe that I am that voice. The totality of my life experience leads me to seek elected office.
Our town is in development overload and I want to be a part of better town discussions which will happen from the Dias, not the back room. I believe that we have massive infrastructure challenges that must be met ahead of construction projects when possible.
We have the potential of a beautiful, revitalized downtown. I would like to be a part of helping to develop ideas to fix what is there, see where new businesses can be brought to town, and how does it sustain itself into the future.
Huntersville needs to be in a constant mode of staying on top of growth and how that effects roads, sidewalks, and wastewater issues. As new schools are being built and neighborhoods are popping up, I believe we need a master plan for our town's growth..
I believe that we have to be consistent in how we handle development, to include: developer standards, project sizes, community impact and possible percentages on attainable housing in new development. Simply put, we need to get our hands around this now and keep building controls.

I have decades of leadership and decision making experience as an active duty Army Officer, and nearly a decade of involvement in town decisions working as a member of town advisory boards:
—Greenway, Trails, and Bikeway Commission 2.5 years;
—Planning Board 6 years and was the Vice-Chair for my last two years;
—Ordinance Advisory Board Planning Board representative 4.5 years.
I understand the Zoning process as well, and probably better, than any
one of the other candidates. I don’t know everything - but I know who to
ask on the town staff when I don’t. and more importantly they know me.
I am fair and reasonable to everyone, and apply common sense to my
decision making and leadership. When I make a decision you will know why.
See additional comments below for my four priorities.
Each is equally important and I do not view one as being more important than the other.
Again, I do not one top issues I have four equally important issues.
These four issues are equally important and I do not view one as being more important to the others.
—To bring back transparency to Town decision making, spending, and
zoning.
—To ensure town growth decisions are based on the Zoning Ordinance,
2040 Community Plan, Small Area Plans, and are fair, resonable, and in the interest of the citizens of Huntersville.
—To ensure Huntersville citizens feel safe and are safe. That our First
Responders are fairly treated, have what they need to keep the citizens of Huntersville safe, and that they return home safely to their families at the end of their shift.
—To reduce taxes, town fees and non-essential spending

I’m a proud Huntersville native and honored to serve as an incumbent. This community means a lot to me. My goal is to serve with integrity, transparency, and care.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Government, and a Master’s in Public Administration. Combined with my professional work in Mecklenburg County government, I have a strong understanding of how government works, and advanced smart growth, enhanced community safety, and workforce housing initiatives.
In my service, I’ve built a reputation as a thoughtful, approachable listener who values diverse perspectives and works to represent every voice in our community. I believe collaboration, paired with practical knowledge, is the best way to deliver meaningful results.
Public safety is the cornerstone of community trust. I proudly support our police and fire departments. I will continue responsible investment in core services, as well as sidewalks and infrastructure that make our neighborhoods safer and more connected.
Economic vitality through smart growth is a priority. Revitalizing downtown to reflect our unique personality and character makes Huntersville more livable, draws new residents and visitors, and keeps our community vibrant, and aligns with supporting small businesses, whose growth and success are essential to our economy.
Finally, housing options that allow, college graduates, professionals, growing families, and retirees to call Huntersville home, is at the heart of my work.
The current board has already laid the groundwork for all three initiatives. Now, it's a matter of strengthening the relationships I've built and forging new ones to build coalitions that help move our residents vision forward.
Smart growth that balances new businesses with increased density improves our revenue outlook which helps keep taxes low. Strong relationships with our staff, citizen led boards, and developers who understand and are committed to our vision is key. These stakeholders must work collaboratively and transparently to ensure intended outcomes. I remain committed being the conduit for our residents desires reaching those who are actively advancing the community's vision and to holding our partners accountable.
This town is not just where I grew up, it is my home and where I choose to raise my family. My vision for Huntersville is a community where every resident can proudly call Huntersville “home” today and through the full cycle of their lives should they choose.
I take seriously the non-partisan designation of my role and work on behalf of all our residents, not just those who agree with me. That means I must remain open to feedback and criticism to ensure our actions are the best reflection of our collective visions. So, I invite you to fill out a contact form on my website or schedule time to chat. Your involvement makes all the difference.
Let's remember, Huntersville is not just another suburb. We are a town with our own story, spirit, and sense of place. My commitment is to preserve that uniqueness while ensuring we grow wisely, inclusively, and sustainably. Together, we can keep Huntersville a place where people don’t just live, they belong.

I may be new to running for office, but I’m not new to serving our community. For the past 20 years, I’ve been a dedicated stay-at-home mom to my two daughters, while actively supporting their schools and participating in various clubs and volunteer opportunities. From volunteering as a room mom to serving on two PTA boards as Vice President of Fundraising, I’ve worked alongside teachers, parents, and community members. Currently, I’m on the Fundraising Committee at Ambassador Christian School, where we’re striving to raise money so that every football player and cheerleader is afforded the opportunity to travel to Ireland and compete next August, as an invited guest. We don’t want any student to miss out on such an incredible opportunity.
For many years, Huntersville leaders and residents have recognized the need for a local magistrate’s office, but progress has stalled. An office in Huntersville would reduce response times, ease the burden on residents and officers who currently travel to Charlotte, and strengthen public safety in our community.
Also, taxpayers should have a say in how their dollars are allocated. I will advocate for more accountability and clearer priorities, ensuring tax dollars are invested in services and projects that meet the needs of all residents.
Fully supporting and staffing our police department is of importance. We need more officers on the streets, and in our schools.
My top priority is establishing a magistrate’s office in Huntersville through a collaborative and transparent process. I will begin by meeting with the Clerk of Superior Court, Chief District and Senior Superior Court Judges, and the Administrative Office of the Courts to confirm the legal framework and authority for a North Mecklenburg location. Next, I’ll work with Mecklenburg County to determine facility responsibilities, funding sources, and site options. By coordinating with law enforcement, town staff, and neighboring towns, we can present a unified plan that earns state approval and delivers local judicial access.

I'm a regular citizen, not a politician, and want to bring the voice of a regular, working-class citizen to the town board. My background in Accounting and Finance puts me in a position to be a better steward of taxpayer dollars, provide clear oversight, and ensure financially sound policies that protect both present and future residents.
My top three issues are community-guided decision making, responsible growth, and fiscal responsibility.
We need more focus on Some examples are find ways to increase community involvement/input, no more 3 on 3 commissioner meetings, more conversation and discussion from the dais, fewer items on the consent agenda, agendas coming out earlier to allow citizens a better opportunity to ask questions and get answers from staff ahead of the board meetings, etc.
We can't stop growth, and I don't want to, but I would like to see us slow it down a bit. We can do this by sticking more closely to our zoning ordinances and allowing fewer variances. I'd also like to see us slow the apartment growth by tightening up some ordinances that currently promote by-right apartment builds.
