It has been my pleasure to serve on Monroe City Council these past four years. Running a successful small business that had to stay on budget gave me the experience; with the guidance of an amazing city staff, to manage citizens funds. I have been able to collaborate with State and National elected officials to help promote economic development in Monroe, particularly at our Charlotte Monroe Airport. Through collaboration w Councilwoman Thompson and our NC State delegation we secured an extra million gallons daily of drinking water at a cost of one dollar to our Citizens.!
Seeing the manned control tower at the airport -the only one in the state with an on-site customs office- open and attracting more world class business’/ creating another precision manufacturing corporate part/ carefully curating, and encouraging the redevelopment in our beautiful and vibrant, Downtown
We have been working on funding for the airport tower for the past 2 1/2 years have already secured $6 million in grant money for the state and are well on the way to securing the remainder of the construction money from federal grants a perfect situation to provide cutting edge technology without cost to our Citizens
Continue to support Monroe Police and Fire Depts /maintain relationships on a state and national level to keep our roads in good condition/ enhancing and expand our parks as budgeting allows. I appreciate your support for another term!
