I bring experience in government service, accounting, social work, nonprofit leadership, and education. I hold a B.A. in Accounting from Belmont Abbey, an M.S.W. from UNC Charlotte, and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the VA Medical Center. I am also the founder of As One Ministries, which served more than 6,000 individuals in need through food, housing, and shelter programs. My service has been recognized with honors including the Key to the City of Gastonia, Gastonia Citizen of the Year, and the MLK Jr. Unity Award. With this experience and lifelong commitment to Gastonia, I am prepared to represent Ward 4 with integrity, accountability, and heart.
1) Advocate for the Reduction of Homelessness & Increased Affordable Housing
2) Economic Development & Public Safety - Strong economic growth and safe neighborhoods go hand in hand. I will support efforts to attract new businesses, especially those that provide good-paying jobs and make Gastonia more appealing to young adults, families, and visitors. At the same time, I will champion public safety initiatives that help us recruit and retain qualified law enforcement and emergency personnel.
3) Support youth and seniors through community programming.
Homelessness & Affordable Housing:
Gastonia needs more housing options that serve residents at all income levels. I will work to strengthen collaboration between the City of Gastonia, Gaston County, local businesses, hospitals, places of worship, and nonprofits to expand shelter options and long-term housing solutions, such as tiny homes, shared living, and shelters. I will also advocate for new housing developments to include units dedicated to low- and moderate-income families, ensuring that all residents have a safe and stable place to call home.
I am a lifelong resident of Gastonia, born and raised in the Highland community. My service has included leading nonprofit organizations, serving on boards, and working directly with residents to provide resources and solutions. Now, I feel called to take this service a step further as a member of Gastonia City Council. I want to bring my background in accounting, finance, social work, and childcare to the table to be a strong, thoughtful, and fair voice for the people of Ward 4 and all of Gastonia. I am proud of the progress our city has made, and I am committed to building on that momentum so that every neighborhood has the opportunity to thrive.
