Position/philosophy statement I am a 20 year resident in district 4 for the city of Concord, North Carolina. I want to bring a better approach to the rapid growth in our city, I do not want to raise taxes, I want to restrain medium to high density housing. Keep Concord safe.

I have worked in small business and know the value that is given to the community through those enterprises. I believe there are core principles and values that work best for any people group when practically applied to our livelihoods, families, and institutions. I will seek to be available for ideas and concerns for every distinct group of citizens in the city. Together, we can continue to make Concord a great place to live and raise a family. Concord is a safe city and we need to keep it that way. And I will seek to be open, honest and transparent as a government official representing the people.
Making a sound and reasonable decision on the Concord Farm development that is in line with the majority of the citizens of Concord. Concord’s current growth rate is not sustainable. It’s putting strain on infrastructure and schools. We need to look at the next 10 to 20 years and make a better framework of growth for our current citizens. Concord is open for business, in particular small business. We need to find the right mix of varying sizes of enterprises.
We should have townhall type discussions with the community about the Concord Farm development. There are zoning and sewer issues to be resolved. Size matters in the current plan. I would like to have a different quota for new housing starts/developments. I would like to avoid medium and high density housing as much as possible. I want to make sure we address affordable housing for our citizens. I would like to see what’s possible with federal and other funds that are available for refurbishing current citizens homes. People are attracted to North Carolina period. So we should not have a problem with businesses relocating to Concord and encouraging new ones to be established.
