The City of Cherryville operates under the Council-Manager form of government. Under the Council-Manager form of government, the City Council appoints the City Manager who is responsible for carrying out the Council s policy initiatives and for the day-to-day administration of City government.The Mayor is elected at-large in non-partisan elections for a two-year term.Four City Council Members are elected at-large from Wards in non-partisan elections for staggered four-year terms. Council members must reside in the Ward they represent. A professional City Manager is employed by the Mayor and City Council to administer the day-to-day operation of the City.
