Position/philosophy statement for a sunny Belmont

Dave is a retired tax supervisor with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, with a career spanning 39 years. He was a Selectman for North Attleborough Massachusetts 2003-2005. He was a School Committee member for North Attleborough 2001,2002, and 2022-2024. In the interim years, he was a Representative Town Meeting and Finance Committee member.
Dave will address infrastructure issues of wastewater treatment capacity, road/sidewalk maintenance, and public safety staffing levels with a fiscally responsible annual budget and capital improvement long term plan.

Dave will address quality of life issues like the Belmont Trolley by working with local businesses and nonprofits; a public rubber running track and more variety in youth sports by working with park and rec as well as the county school system.

Dave will address traffic congestion by working with local and state partners, communicating to the public that in fact there are plans for the present and future, so that we will have reasonable traffic flow in the city.
Dave will address infrastructures issues only through collaboration with fellow council members. Dave wants to understand what their specific constituency needs are, find common ground, and legislate/execute a united infrastructure policy.
Belmont is already a sunny place. I hope my future, small contributions in government will make it even sunnier. Please follow, share, and comment on my Facebook page "David Chee for Belmont City Council".
