Fundraising/Grant Writing: Research, knowledge, and proven outcomes of obtaining funds to support communities.
Policy/Procedures: Understanding, implementing , and amending.
Zoning/Codes/Permits: Assist with filing for business and residential. Familiar with process to take citizens and towns requests for parcel rezoning or leaving green into consideration.
Business/Job Opportunities: Knowledge of business operations, finances, growth, customer relations, business plans, marketing, etc.
Advocacy: Your voice!
1. Small Businesses/Job Opportunities: Since the Mill Town, this area has become primarily residential. Development growth focused on local small businesses supporting the future of our town and its citizens.
2. Funding: As with all communities, growth comes at a cost. Research efforts for grants to enhance our community and support our departments to better serve our citizens without the cost impacting our current citizens.
3. Community Engagement: Inclusion, Voices Heard (open door policy), Committees of Citizens/Volunteers to address topics of concerns (River/Park Clean Up; Cultural Awareness; Social Services; Social Events; etc)
Review/Amend Capital Improvement Plan: Numerous development projects are projected for the next 10 years without careful planning for current state of towns infrastructure and include improvements before breaking ground on new developments (prepare for a triple increase in population and present the need for a Municipality Complex Development). Review of Municipality Departments including Town Hall, Public Works, and Fire Department to ensure buildings, equipment, and personnel are meeting standards for operation. Traffic Control and Safety: Numerous multiple vehicle accidents occur at Carolina Ave/Cape Hickory Rd/Burke St intersection. We need to reduce the risk at this intersection for the safety of our citizens and visitors to area!
With integrity and compassion for community service I will strive to empower each citizen to join me in creating a town for all. A town we take pride in and a town that that shows heart and grit. Reinventing and building a community together! I am honored to be a candidate for the Town of Rhodhiss Town Commissioner. I grew up in a small community in Chesterfield, Burke County and always knew community service was my passion! I have served numerous populations over the past 15 years as a Child Play Therapist, Youth Counselor, EC Teacher, Social Worker Foster Care, Disaster Relief Coordinator during Helene, Joined local Fire Dept, and currently studying to become an EMT. My drive as a candidate is for the people because you are our community! You matter and it’s time your community reflects that! Thanks for your consideration in electing me as your Town Commissioner for the Town of Rhodhiss!
