The Town operates under the council-manager form of government, in which an elected Town Council (consisting of a mayor and five council members) establishes policy, ordains law, decides how land is developed, and hires a professional, politically neutral Town manager to run day-to-day operations. The Town manager also provides the council with objective, rational advice and recommendations and carries out the decisions made by the council in a manner based on sound business practices.The five member Council is elected at-large in non-partisan elections by all the qualified voters of the Town, for staggered four years terms and until their successors are elected and qualified. Council members are responsible for legislative functions such as establishing policy, passing local ordinances, voting appropriations, and developing an overall vision.

I'm the best candidate for Holly Springs Mayor because I've campaigned like I would govern--by listening. I've had conversations with thousands of residents to understand their issues and how they'd like their Town government to address them.
I've spent 25 years working with state and federal governments, organizing families and communities to advocate for the resources they need to live better. I've managed conversations and helped negotiate the differences between what constituents needed and what legislators were willing to support.
My family and I have lived in Holly Springs for 12 years and experienced the same challenges as other families.
I'm best positioned to ensure the Holly Springs Town government delivers what residents need.
The top three issues in this election are:
1. Growing responsibly by prioritizing residents' needs and focusing on affordability;
2. Improving elected leaders' engagement and transparency with residents; and
3. Investing in the growth and profitability of our small businesses.
In Holly Springs, growth often feels like it's happening to residents, rather than for them. Residents need to be at the center of our development plans. We can achieve this by:
1. Adjusting our approach from "development at all costs" to "development when it's worth the cost." Residents' top issue is the traffic generated from new development. If we're going to accept more traffic from new development, the town needs to get something substantial in return.
2. Using foresight and creativity to reduce traffic, including devoting more of our tax revenue to transportation projects and working to take cars off the roads.
3. Investing in creating affordable housing and reducing costs for services like before/after school care.
Holly Springs is a great place to live! I can make it better by:
Creating a residents-first focus for our development;
Investing in getting more feedback from residents in every corner of our town; and
Investing in reducing costs for small businesses and families.
