TOWN OF STOKESDALE TOWN COUNCIL
The Town operates under a Council-Manager form of government, with the Town Manager being appointed by the Town Council to carry out policy determined by the Council. The Town Council consists of the Mayor and four members - all are elected at-large in non-partisan elections to staggered four-year terms in odd-numbered year elections. The Council is the governing board of the town and is responsible for the government and general management including: - scheduling regular public meetings, - establishing the budget, imposing taxes and borrowing funds, - establishing local ordinances, land Annexations, and - representing the community to other levels of government.
