TOWN OF PLEASANT GARDEN MAYOR
The Town operates under a Council-Manager form of government, with the Town Manager being appointed by the Town Council to carry out policy determined by the Council.The Mayor is elected at-large in non-partisan elections by all the qualified voters of the Town for a term of two years in odd numbered years. The Town Council is composed of four members elected at-large in non-partisan elections by all the qualified voters of the Town for staggered terms of four years in odd numbered year elections.The Council is the governing board of the town and is responsible for the government and general management including: - scheduling regular public meetings, - establishing the budget, imposing taxes and borrowing funds, - establishing local ordinances, land annexations, and - representing the community to other levels of government.
