The Town of Green Level operates under the Mayor-Council plan. The governing body of the Town of Green Level is the Town Council, which has five members. The members of the Town Council are elected at-large in non-partisan elections for staggered four year terms in odd-numbered years by qualified voters of the entire Town. The Mayor shall be elected by the Council from among its membership to serve at its pleasure. The Mayor has the right to vote on all matters before the Council. The Council is the governing board of the town and is responsible for the government and general management including: - scheduling regular public meetings, - establishing the budget, - imposing taxes and borrowing funds, - establishing local ordinances, - Land Annexations, and representing the community to other levels of government.
