CITY OF EDEN MAYOR

The City of Eden is governed by a Council-Manager form of government which includes a Mayor and seven Council Members. The Mayor is elected at-large in non-partisan elections by all voters in the city, and serves for a four year term.The Mayor is the presiding officer and does not vote unless the vote is tied. In the absence or disability of the Mayor, the Mayor Pro Tempore (a Council Member) is selected from its members and performs the Mayoral duties.The City is divided into seven wards each represented by one Council Member.All Council members are elected at-large in non-partisan elections by all the city voters, and serve staggered four-year terms. Ward-specific Council members must reside in the district they represent.Council sets and directs policies and the City Manager is the Chief Executive Officer of the City and is responsible for the execution of those policies.
