As an RN and a Nursing Professor(PT), I am a good listener and I can adapt my teaching and conversation to work with anyone. I am also a peer reviewing which requires forensic auditing and attention to fine details. I a very aware of the disregard for new ideas as well as the changing demographics of WP from a "retirement" community to one of mostly young families. I have several ideas of how the embrace them and not exclude them. My profession is one of adaptability and being flexible and this is needed in WP. I see great potential for the older residents to work with our younger ones if opportunities and support is given. The Village Council can assist with this.
Reduce the number of ordinances that are too restrictive, not needed, are redundant or confusing; embrace an include all of our residents in more family friendly events. We should be known for our diversity and wonderful school instead of all the ordinances; and strictly regulate new building in Moore County that is effecting flooding and the environment.

My additional experiences include Assistant Nursing Director, Curriculum Chair, Hiring Chair, grant writing (garnered over $100,000 in grant wards), President of school parent association for 3 years, have written numerous reports for State and National Accreditations and feel that I can make difference. I am also concerned why the current VC of WP did not vote to save the community >$750,000 in garbage collection fees. This is revenue that is greatly needed given the Dam and lake work expenditures needed.

I am a father, husband, and Veteran of both the military and law enforcement, and have several years of experience owning a small business here in Moore County, as well as experience in leadership and management of government prior to that. I hold a Masters in Public Administration, Law, and Public Policy from Liberty University, and was born and raised right here in the Sandhills of NC. I have always been a servant leader working towards common sense solutions to problems and issues.
Public space enhancements for the use and enjoyment of residents, such as additional greenways, side walks, and parks. We have a very active community, and many young families with children, who could all benefit from safer recreation and traffic avoidance access points and infrastructure.

Transparency, communication, and access between citizens and elected representatives. Our Village is small enough that no citizen should ever have the inability to communicate with its leaders one on one.

Prioritizing the search and appointment of a Village Manager so that we can proactively and efficiently seek out and obtain resources for both infrastructure improvement and Dam repairs.
The top issue begins by prioritizing my third issue - finding a strong manager for the Village. He or she is vital to ensuring we have someone working to manage our current assets and budget and government, while also exploring and obtaining resources, such as grants, to accomplish my top priority.
I like to call myself the “sensible center candidate.” Politics have become so polarized that people cannot find ways to discuss differing opinions without fear of retaliation or excommunication. This must change. Our country is what it is today because of the welcoming of diverse thought. Our founders knew the importance of this and designed our Constitution to promote debate and compromise, knowing that diverse thought was the only path a democracy could take to survive.

I have never blindly followed anyone, whether they were on my team or not. We should be able to recognize that people we may disagree with about one thing have the ability to be right about another. To follow blindly is both unwise and dangerous. If elected I can assure the voters that I will lead with integrity, independence of thought, patience and acceptance for and of differing ideas, and with a true sense of duty to the people I represent, in policy, transparency, and access.
