1. Smart Growth & Infrastructure – Manage growth responsibly to preserve Aberdeen’s small-town charm while improving infrastructure, housing options, and transportation.
2. Community Engagement & Human-Centered Approach – Ensure transparent decision-making, strengthen communication, and prioritize listening to residents, especially those who often feel unheard, so all voices help shape our town’s future.
3. Parks, Recreation & Quality of Life – Invest in safe neighborhoods, accessible green spaces, and recreational opportunities that support families, youth, and seniors while protecting our rural heritage.
Together, these priorities balance preservation with progress, keeping Aberdeen rooted in tradition while boldly preparing for tomorrow
Aberdeen is growing quickly, and we must balance progress with preserving our small-town character. As Commissioner, I will work with town staff, developers, and residents to create responsible growth plans that prioritize infrastructure, housing affordability, and transportation. I will advocate for transparent processes so residents understand how decisions are made and have a real voice in shaping development. My focus will be on smart, human-centered growth—strengthening what makes Aberdeen special while ensuring families, workers, and businesses thrive as our town expands.
I am running for Aberdeen Town Commissioner because I believe in service-driven leadership that honors our town’s history while preparing boldly for its future. My career in nonprofit and higher education leadership has equipped me with skills in governance, strategic planning, and collaboration to deliver results that matter. I bring the perspective of a lifelong learner, a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD®), Vice Chair of the Mid-Carolina Workforce Development Board, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina, and a member of the Aberdeen Parks & Recreation Advisory Council. My goal is to ensure transparent decision-making, responsible growth, safe and vibrant neighborhoods, and opportunities for all residents to thrive. Aberdeen is more than where I live—it’s my home, and I am committed to preserving its roots while shaping a strong future for generations to come.
