I worked for the city for four years prior to being elected in 2021. So, I learned where the city was strong and also where we had deficiencies. During my 2021 campaign, I made a promise to restore the Lakes, which will be completed within the next 12 to 18 months with no additional setbacks. We as a team went out and got the lake fully funded without falling on the local tax dollars through grants. I promised we would begin developing our commercial district with a grocery store, the announcement of our store is soon to come. I have promised to work on stormwater, we now have a stormwater team including an engineer on staff. I am committed to building infrastructure not just for today, but for many years to come.
Stormwater- Team is now in place, progress is being made daily, I will be seeking funding for our bigger stormwater projects. Roads- Once we have the stormwater fixed in an area, then we can dedicate the funds to rebuilding roads to DOT standards, not just slapping asphalt down. Dams- Not only completing the dam project but creating a maintenance program so that our dams will operate properly for many years to come
We already have this in place; this project started last month by bringing on the team. We have 54 miles of ditches to repair, replace, and maintain. Some of our bigger projects will require additional funding, which we will be seeking at a meeting in Nov. We are trying to prioritize the plan according to historical flooding records, as well as insuring that all new development comes with an engineered stormwater plan in place.
It has been my honor and privilege to serve Boiling Spring Lakes for the past four years. We have gotten the city moving and headed in the right direction. I hope that the voters will see fit to allow me four more years to see many of these projects to completion. I am proud of what has been accomplished in the past four years, it took teamwork, not only by a board and staff, but also the many citizens that have volunteered their time. Stop by and speak when you go to the polls, I would love to hear your opinion.
