Position/philosophy statement
Safe streets. Responsible growth. Thoughtful leadership. That’s my promise to Peletier. I follow through—never accepting “no” when it comes to protecting our children and supporting our seniors.
Current Occupation
Former Special Agent, Federal Law Enforcement Agency; Town of Peletier Planning Board Chair and Homeschool Consultant
As a former Special Agent with a Federal Law Enforcement Agency, I was a trained investigator, skilled at developing information and analyzing issues thoroughly. In recent years, I’ve applied those skills in Peletier, adding consistent follow-through to achieve results. Before serving on any board, I worked with NCDOT to reduce speed limits, repair roads, and restore streetlights; secured grants to provide 100 bike helmets to children; and advocated for safety and community needs. As a Planning Board member—and now Chair—I helped update our Subdivision Ordinance and lead the steering committee for our Land Use Plan, now nearing completion. I work tirelessly to protect children, support the elderly, and preserve what makes Peletier special.
Safety: Reduce traffic hazards, improve dangerous intersections such as West Firetower/Peletier Loop, enhance pedestrian and bike safety, and explore adding a part-time law enforcement officer in collaboration with the Sheriff or nearby towns. Keeping residents safe must come first—if roads aren’t safe, nothing else matters.
Responsible Growth: Ensure new development includes sidewalks, stormwater management, and open spaces while preserving Peletier’s character and keeping taxes low. I am pursuing grants to help fund sidewalks and bike paths.
Community Engagement: Provide ways for residents to share input and encourage neighbors to be involved in shaping Peletier’s future.
I will prioritize safety by working to improve key intersections such as West Firetower Rd/Peletier Loop Rd and Hwy 58/Peletier Loop Rd, building on my past work with NCDOT and bike safety initiatives. I started a petition for changes at West Firetower and will continue that same persistence—I don’t want us to wait until someone gets hurt. I will pursue grants and funding to add sidewalks and bike paths. I will also confer with the Sheriff and/or nearby towns to explore adding part-time law enforcement coverage, which is critical as our town grows. By listening to residents and involving them directly, I will ensure safety measures are practical, effective, and sustainable.
I care deeply about Peletier and its residents—our children, families, and seniors. For many years, even before serving on any board, I’ve rolled up my sleeves to make our streets safer and advocate for thoughtful development. I believe leadership means listening, acting with integrity, and following through. I approach every decision carefully, gathering facts, asking questions, and considering all perspectives before acting. I persist when needed, standing up for what is right for our community. As your Town Commissioner, I will continue championing practical solutions that protect our residents, support responsible growth, and preserve the natural beauty and character that make Peletier home. My approach has always been to act and follow through, helping ensure Peletier stays safe, strong, and moving forward.
