The Town operates under the council-manager form of government, where the Board of Commissioners serves as the legislative body and the Town Manager serves as the chief executive officer, responsible for administering the Town government.The governing body consists of a Mayor and five Commissioners. All are elected at-large in non-partisan elections for staggered four-year terms.

Position/philosophy statement As a candidate for Town Council, my position stands on honesty, integrity, accountable and service to the community. While serving on the Town Council my focus will be on solutions that make our town stronger, safer for future generations.

I have previously served 26 years on the Town of Holly Ridge Town Council Board. Serving in the capacities of Mayor, Mayor Pro-tem and board member.

I will be open to new ideas by listening to staff, the citizens and the current board members for ideas and suggestions that will not only be used now, but ideals for future growth. Overall planning should be based on not only immediate needs, but also needs for future generations.
I have spent my entire life in the service for my God and my community. I am a Christian whose values and lifestyle is an added bonus to assisting with the growth of our township. It is important for the voters to know that I will be a responsible representative of their concerns and also a champion for their cause.

Retired U.S. Navy Flight Officer. Having made several combat deployments during my twenty years of service I had the opportunity to work with and lead junior officers and enlisted personnel. My last command was with Tactical Control Squadron 21 and I worked with marines from Camp Lejeune, New River and Cherry Point. I understand our local Marine’s on base and community needs.
- Community First. I will listen, collaborate and make decisions that reflect the values of our town. - Sensible Growth. Develop underused areas within our town limits before considering any additional annexation projects. - Infrastructure and Safety. Provide Health and Emergency Services to our town through fiscally responsible planning and execution.
My leadership style is one of participation. Using the leadership skills I learned and practiced as a Naval Officer, I will seek inputs from fellow council members, Holly Ridge staff and mostly importantly Holly Ridge citizens to bring about fair and sound decisions.
