I have worked with a diversity of people from all over the world in collaborative endeavors my whole life. From missions work, teaching, administrative leadership and more. I am a visionary thinker who strives to find solutions and create community.
I believe the local library should be a community hub for learning and connection. Libraries have been a repository of knowledge for all civilizations and we need to keep the standards of truth, creativity, openness, and support for all our community members utmost in our perspective when we direct a resource like our library system.
I would like our libraries to be safe places for families and all people, young and old, to gain the knowledge and support they need to grow and thrive.
After school tutoring, storytelling, celebrating indigenous and cultural events, supporting young and struggling families with information and connections that would help them, free language programs, citizenship classes; all of these services and more could be shared through the local library.
A lack of relevance- I would help to make our local libraries the place to get answers and help.
