Examples include people’s utility districts, library districts, water districts, fire protection districts, and more. They are governed by a board of directors, which is responsible for management and financial accountability. Special districts are empowered to levy any necessary taxes and fees to fulfill their mandate. Board members are not paid but may receive a per diem reimbursement.Park and recreation districts in Oregon are responsible for providing a range of recreation services including parks, open spaces, pools, and more. Your Experience/Qualifications 40 + years involvement with youth sports as a parent, coach and administrator. Additionally, I have 35+ years as an HVAC/Mechanical conctract and I advise the current local MACRD administration on maintenance and cost saving ideas for the pool operations

I have 35+ years as an HVAC/Mechanical contracting and I advise the current local MACRD administration on maintenance and cost saving ideas for the pool operations. I also have 40 years of involvement with youth sports, both aquatic and land based.
The district has plans to increase facility times as well as land based programs and is well represented. the issue is operating capital, which we are working towards getting stable funding for the district.
building maintenance is top priority. the existing mechanical systems are about to age out. pool liners will need to be replaced soon and locker and restrooms need a freshening.
