DUTIES: The County Council exercises all legislative powers. The County Council also sits as the District Council which decides all zoning and land use matters. The County Council also sits as the Board of Health which decides health policy matters.SALARY: $114,347 baseTERM: This is a special election to fill the remaining two years of the term of a member of Council.HOW ELECTED: For County Council At-Large candidates, the top two countywide vote getters will be elected. For the nine (9) County Council District candidates, a candidate wins by popular vote within the councilmanic district.
