The Town of Gaston General Election will be held January 21, 2025. Your address indicates you live in the town limits and are eligible to vote in this election.The Town of Gaston has a non-partisan mayor-council form of government including the mayor and 4 council members who serve 4-year alternating terms. The mayor serves as the chief executive officer. The mayor and council members have equal votes and are responsible for making policy and enacting laws. To serve as Mayor or Council Member a person must be a resident of the town or city, at least 18 years of age and registered to vote. Each newly elected officer takes office at the first regular Town Council meeting in February after the election.Two seats are open for Town Council. Only two candidates have filed to run for the two seats. You can write in one or two other people who are qualified if you choose.
