One of the main reasons I am running for office is my dedication to improving public safety. Previously I served as a Team Lead for the local Moms Demand Action chapter and reducing gun violence in Missouri is a priority for me. Our children and communities deserve to be safe and Missouri desperately needs to start working to improve the situation.

As a healthcare worker, I also want to improve healthcare access and affordability in this state. Women's healthcare and mental healthcare in particular. I am passionate about bringing better representation to women in this state and taking steps to improve mental healthcare access and affordability could bring about so many positive outcomes.

Public education is another area I am passionate about improving. Our schools should be fully funded to get the job done well and our teachers need to be guaranteed the pay they are worth. I also would tie affordable and accessible childcare into this as well.
My approach is always to listen, look at the facts and work together. I do not claim to be a master of anything, but rather someone who strives to constantly be learning and improving. I will always listen to the experts and look to the data when considering our state challenges. I also will respect and consider differing opinions than my own and work to reach compromises that address all voices in the matter.
As Mr Rogers has said, "always look for the helpers". I am a helper. It's what I have done throughout my career and I continue to seek ways to improve the world around me. I am also extremely independent and hard working. I put my all into everything I do, whether I am working alone or with a team. The educator in me will make sure that I am constantly teaching and explaining the issues with constituents, and the great communicator in me will make sure to always listen and follow through when people reach out. I will always be present, available and ready to help in any way that I can.
I am a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and I was a volunteer for Moms Demand Action before running for office. While with Moms, I was a Team Lead for our local chapter for a little over a year before I had to step down when I declared my candidacy. My music therapy business has contracted with many local organizations and facilities including outpatient therapy clinics, hospitals, public schools, domestic violence shelters, shelters for unhoused youth, assisted living facilities, dementia care and local preschools. Besides my music therapy work with my business, I also have taught part time on the music therapy staff at Drury University for over 10 years.
