Typically, a Mayor does not have the power to veto ordinances passed by the Council. The Council enacts ordinances, sets policies, develops an annual Legislative Agenda for the City, and oversees the city budget and capital improvements program. It responds to constituents concerns at neighborhood meetings through written correspondence, telephone communication, and staff assistance. 4-year term. Why You Should Care:The Mayor and City or Town Council play a significant role in keeping our communities running efficiently and overseeing dozens of programs and facilities that directly impact our daily lives. Throughout this time, I have participated initiatives that foster community engagement and address local concerns, from infrastructure improvements to environmental conservation.
Occupation Business Owner, Clearwater Utilities; Pastor of New Jerusalem Ministries

1. Responsible Growth and Infrastructure Development: I will work closely with city planners, developers, and the community to implement smart growth strategies, prioritizing long-term sustainability without sacrificing the quality of life for our residents. 2. Small Business Support and Economic Development: I plan to create an environment where small businesses can thrive, focusing on easing regulatory burdens, offering incentives for local entrepreneurs, and attracting new industries to diversify our economy. 3. Community Engagement and Safety: I will work with law enforcement, first responders, and community leaders to ensure our neighborhoods remain safe, while also addressing any crime prevention and emergency preparedness.
To guarantee fiscal responsibility, I will prioritize careful budgeting and ensure that every dollar is spent efficiently to benefit the residents of Buckeye. I will push for regular financial audits and evaluations of city projects to prevent wasteful spending and identify areas where we can cut costs without compromising essential services.

In terms of transparency, I will advocate for open and accessible communication with the public. This includes implementing easy-to-understand financial reports available online, holding public forums to discuss budget decisions, and encouraging community input on how taxpayer money is spent. I believe in making the budgeting process more transparent by increasing opportunities for public engagement during budget planning, ensuring that all residents have a voice in shaping our city's financial future.
Water Scarcity: Promote upgrades to water infrastructure to reduce leaks and increase recycling. Launch city-wide conservation programs and educate the public on sustainable practices for long-term water security.

Infrastructure Strain: Address traffic congestion by widening key roads and improving public transportation. This will ease commuting, enhance safety, and support growth.

Affordable Housing: Work with developers to create more affordable housing options while supporting homeownership programs and rental assistance to ensure residents can stay in the community.

By focusing on these areas, we can ensure Buckeye remains sustainable, safe, and affordable for all residents.
If I received a $1 million grant, I would allocate it toward water conservation and road infrastructure to address critical needs in Buckeye. Water Conservation A portion of the funds would go toward: Upgrading water infrastructure to reduce leaks, improve recycling, and enhance efficiency. Launching city-wide conservation programs to encourage water-saving technologies like smart irrigation and efficient fixtures. Supporting public education on water sustainability to promote long-term responsible usage. Improving Road Infrastructure The remaining funds would focus on widening key roads in and out of the city to: Reduce traffic congestion and improve safety. Enhance commuting for residents and support efficient business operations. Boost economic growth by improving transportation routes for both residents and businesses. By investing in water sustainability and road infrastructure, we can support Buckeye’s growth and improve quality of life for all residents.
