Economic redevelopment of north St Louis County. This is a multi-faceted issue: ensure safety of life and property and proper enforcement of the law; support education; ensure the residents have the ability to take advantage of economic opportunities; and create reasons for investors to want to put money in the region and stem the exodus of people from the area.
1) School choice. I'm not opposed to government education. It just doesn't always work well. All options should be available. 2) Judicial reform, including addressing negligent and abusive local officials who discourage investment. 3) Initiative petition reform. If the constitution can be changed on a whim, there is no constitution. Its permanence is what makes it work.

Education: I have had a listening ear and watched the Normandy School District almost fall to pieces by the wayside. In this position I will be able to advocate to adjust policies where the need is greatest. Criminal justice reform and recidivism. Health care.
Education by all means necessary. It is important to identify what's wrong by hearing the parents, students and educators and build our curriculum based on our community. We have to break and address the school to prison/death pipeline and make funding schools our priority.
