Healthcare - TN rejects 1-2 billion in Medicaid Expansion funding each year, this potentially effects 300,000 Tennesseans. In this instance, more funding is absolutely needed. We should accept the funding and provide healthcare to as many people as possible.
Educational concerns- School systems across the State are eating fund balances like candy. The State and Federal Gov have cut grants, expanded vouchers, leaving the Local Gov to clean up the mess. When Schools aren't properly funded by those entities your property taxes make up the difference and tax dollars we are already paying to the State and Federal Gov get spent out of the district.
Rural communities across the district are in dire need of infrastructure funding.
We need to stop rewarding Corporations who use and abuse their employees, tenants, etc.
Tax breaks and other benefits should only go to those who truly do their level best to support those keeping them afloat.
Eliminate the Grocery Tax
Accept Medicaid Expansion
The State Legislature should stop making decisions without consulting teachers and parents. These decisions should not be influenced by big ticket donors like "Americans for Prosperity."
My plan for education involves a hands-on approach actually communicating with educators across my district. I don't believe throwing sums of cash at a problem is always a valid solution either, let's sit down and talk with the ones dealing with it every day. If its funding they need, that's what they'll get. We will repeal Bill Lee's voucher scam regardless.
I believe Data Center regulation should be regulated on the local level, as a current County Commissioner I can say we are very capable of handling that situation and are in the process of doing so. There is so much dirty money flowing through the legislature in regard to Data Centers, I have little faith they could accomplish something.
