In speaking with voters in my district, I have found their issues of top concern are:
1. Affordability (housing, education, healthcare, daily goods)
2. Homelessness and associated crime
3. Infrastructure including roads and public transportation
4. The threat of wildfire
My district (and much of Colorado) has a critical shortage of housing affordably by working class folks, putting a strain on many household budgets. I plan to champion legislation aimed at increasing the supply of affordable housing.
I believe addressing this issue will require state and local governments working together taking a multi-faceted approach including tort reform concerning building defects, streamlining administrative paperwork, corporate single family home rental reform and development incentives.

Firstly, let me say that we, in the United States, need comprehensive immigration reform at the federal level that will give us humane laws we can actually enforce and yet allow us to continue to be a welcoming nation. Locally, many are understandably concerned about the economic impact a massive influx of migrants would cause without the services to support them, such as what has happened in Denver over the last few years.
I believe the state government should help support municipalities overwhelmed with immigrants and work with the federal government to obtain funding for their support. I don’t believe the state or municipal governments should be in the business of targeting illegal immigrants for deportation.
I’m proud Colorado is reaching toward ambitious clean air and energy goals with the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Reduction Roadmap and the Road to 100% Renewable Energy by 2040. However, I recognize that such change will impact people’s lives and livelihoods.
I plan to champion bringing these energy goals to fruition while also keeping energy prices affordable for the end consumer, maintaining energy grid reliability, and ensuring a just transition by supporting economic diversification for oil-product-dependent communities and job retraining for oil and gas workers.
I believe reproductive decisions should be made by the woman with the family members of her choosing in consultation with their doctor and any spiritual guidance they seek.
Abortion, contraception and IVF must remain legal, safe and widely accessible.
Every eligible Coloradan has the right to vote, and to know that their vote is counted in an accessible, fair, secure, and accurate election. While no election system is perfect, Colorado has one of the best election systems in the county.
When having conversations about improvements to our election system, it's important that we have honest conversations rooted in facts rather than conspiracy theories.
I’m confident in the fairness and accuracy of our election system and will gracefully accept the results of this election.
