Climate change is our greatest challenge. Housing remains a struggle and the costs of living for both seniors and working families is a perennial challenge. I am committed to creative solutions to address all of these challenges and more.
I work hard to keep my constituents informed, be available for their concerns and questions and help them understand how to participate in the legislative process.
I will keep supporting policies that increase housing availability and accessibility of all kinds. We need all kinds of new units that allow there to be less strain on the market and an eventual leveling out of costs. This includes housing first, starter homes, new apartment units and opportunities to downsize affordably for seniors. It's a long game but our efforts are starting to pay off after 2 years with a legislative special committee for housing.
I am here to serve my constituents and work hard to find common ground with my fellow legislators. My overall goals are to support the stability of state government and make it the most functional it can be for the citizens of Maine. At the same time, I am committed to the protecting access to the democratic process, justice for all, and fair regulations that support economic growth and prosperity but also protect our environment and our most vulnerable residents. It's a fine balance of issues that are all interrelated and it starts with building effective relationships.
