Will do if elected
I believe County Board Members need to be more accountable to their constituents. I will support the will of the voters in my district. I also feel the board Chairman has too much power over the rest of the board. He has been able to do what he pleases, and the current Members just follow along. If elected I would support a more democratic system where the peoples voice matters.
I feel they need to take the health and human services seriously. The government is responsible to provide certain services and it seems to me they are trying to find ways to escape their responsibility. Health and human services are important to County residents and should be administered and funded accordingly.
I feel the landfill, our forests, and farmland need to be top priorities. The latter 2 are important for economic reasons as well as environmental. The Landfill has to be maintained and monitored constantly to avoid a major environmental disaster. I feel the County needs to be more proactive as far as the landfill is concerned.
I feel the roads, Highways, and bridges are most important. Not only to be maintained, but have a budget for repairs. There is Federal money out there and I don't feel the current board is pursuing funding that could help reduce costs to the taxpayers.
If elected, I would allow access on social media as well as a possible webpage and also use means already available, such as the local newspapers and our local radio station. I would like to make it easier for constituents to contact me by any means possible. The contact information should be readily available.
