I would personally review every building code the county has and if any are unnecessary or superseded i would have them removed. For any rules that make no sense, I would work with our legislative representatives to form coalitions to attemp ti change the rules. I will work to increase our buildable land inventory and make sure the available infrastruction is adequate to handle the growth

The greatest challenge we have in Josephine County is improving human relations for everyone. By doing this, we will be able to come together and solve any other problem we have. We have a polarized county that is being divided by extremists on both sides. Only a nonpartisan county commissioner can help to bring rational people together to work on county problems.

The second major problem is the injunction against the city of Grants Pass to force the city to either build low barrier housing or allow park camping. This problem may be solved by SCOTUS when they overturn the 9th Circuit on this issue. We will still need to work on providing shelter for anyone who cannot afford it after the ruling.
I am a US Marine veteran (the only veteran running for this position) and the most highly educated individual running as well. I have an MBA and MSFS, two master degrees, in finance and financial planning. I am an expert when it comes to optimizing money management including taxation and investments.

I am also a member of one of the smallest minorities in Oregon (I am Jewish) which makes me more aware and sensitive to any discrimination or hate that exists in our county, Unfortunately, I know that there is antisemitism and other group hatreds in our community. I want to make our county the most welcoming county in Oregon by treating everyone with respect and equality.

Lastly, I truly am a nonpartisan in political practice.
Whatever the county can do to help increase the supply of affordable housing in Josephine County I would be open to. Any housing supply increase will need to also be balanced with environmental needs as well.

Also, to try to prevent corporate speculation on residential housing will also help keep real estate prices and rentals lower. Lower mortgage rates will also lower costs of buying homes and make them more affordable.

I also would like to put a system in place where county property taxes never cause someone to lose their home if they cannot afford them. County taxes are going up and it may cause a financial hardship for some existing homeowners. A deferral of some kind would help these individuals stay in their homes.
