The Mayor chairs the City Council. Members of a City Council supervise the city departments, either directly or through a city manager or administrator. City Councils pass laws, set policy, decide which services will be provided, and develop budgets; they negotiate work contracts and make hiring and firing decisions. An elective city officer must be a qualified elector under the state constitution who has resided in the city for at least 1 year before being elected. Term: 4 years. The position is nonpartisan.

I have served on multiple boards giving me the expense to guide the city. I was on the Pendleton Grain Growers, the county farm service and the State chairman of the Farm Service board. Also I was on the School board for 21 years m serivece
My experience with multiple boards and commissions. And my knowledge of the city and its processes.
The need for new water wells and water storage facilities.
I understand the open meeting rules and support them. Also the need to keep the citizens fully informed
