Education Associate Degree in Risk Management
Community Involvement Served on AV-W School Board from 1989-1995, and 2018 to present
I feel that membership on the School Board should be a balanced representation of the community. I am currently the sole senior citizen on the school board, and enjoy working with the other members of the Board, Administration, staff and students.
My employment background includes management, insurance, risk management, compliance and quality management. I was employed for 29 years with Howard Young Health Care, and retired in 2018. My previous six years on the AV-W Board from 1989 - 1995 also provides me a solid background in school operations.
Supporting our Teaching staff to ensure they have the resources they need to continue to provide excellence in education and growth, as well as continued attention to changing state regulations and meeting the individual educational needs of our student population.

Concern regarding school funding is ongoing. I support the state funding our schools at a more robust level to relieve the burden on local property owners. The State is currently sitting on a large surplus of funds, and should be funding public education at a higher level.
Community Involvement Volunteer hunter, trapper, and snowmobile safety instructor.
I have 4 children who are current AVW Muskies and work in a volunteer capacity with many local youth. I feel compelled to do my part to help them be successful.
I have been serving on the AVW School Board for the last three years and have learned many things that will help me be even more prepared for my next term. Professionally I have experience with many facets of personnel management that have already been put into use during my first term.
I believe our school should be preparing our students for successful transition into high school and then on to the rest of their lives.
Overall, our district is currently able to meet our needs with our current level of funding. Making sure we are able to meet our student’s needs financially (building maintenance and teacher salaries for instance) is important to me.
