More than 9 years as a State Senator, during which I was Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Criminal Justice Committee and the Ways and Means Committee, all of which heightened my understanding of statutory and constitutional construction and its limitations, and the application of State Judicial Rules in all forms and phases of litigation. It also exposed me to a wide range of issues Ohioans face, and try to address, and the humanity inherent in that effort.
To assure that liberty and justice are fairly and impartially rendered "For All" in Ohio, thereby establishing, maintaining and enhancing the people's confidence in our system of government (particularly our judiciary).

I have been an appellate prosecutor for nearly two decades. I have developed an excellent understanding of appellate procedure, the Constitutions of both the United States and the state of Ohio and the laws derived from them.
I have served the public for my entire career. Being an appellate court judge would allow me to use the experience I have gained through my career as a public servant to serve a larger part of my community by ensuring that decisions made in the lower court are consistent with the constitutions and laws of our state and country.
