What strategies will you use to improve collection of delinquent taxes?

Education/Training/Experience Degree in computer programming and certificates in computer networking and software development which included multiple accounting courses. 15 years serving as the current Chief Deputy.
I have a degree in computer programming and certificates in computer networking and software development with accounting courses. For 15 years I have served as the Chief Deputy to the current Treasurer, which includes direct contact with the public and managing multiple assignments under tight deadlines. I am a detail-oriented person with a strong work ethic. My financial management duties include acting as the County Treasurer when needed, assisting the Treasurer when acting as the chief investment officer and banker for the County, and communicating with other governmental offices.
To improve the collection of delinquent taxes, my processes will include clarifying tax amounts due, collecting delinquent taxes promptly, following time frames for each enforcement stage of collection, and working more closely with taxpayers to develop hardship payment plans.

As the Marion County Treasurer, I will work closely with the taxpayer to establish a workable payment plan. In addition, I will work closely with the Prosecutor's Office to secure delinquent tax payments. It's worth noting that, by law, the Prosecutor's Office would handle any tax sale.
Education/Training/Experience Graduate of MTC-Accounting Degree. 30 years of experience as a Deputy Auditor for Marion County
Employed by Marion County Auditor in 1994 as a file clerk in the financial department. Trained as an Accounts Payable Specialist, then assisted with County inventory, CAFR, and currently serve as Payroll Officer for over 600 employees. Jobs have demanded accurate accounting, compliance reports, and the ability to learn and utilize new software and computer systems. Process all withheld taxes, Federal, State and Local. Report and process retirement, annuity, health savings and various payroll deducted contributions. My performance and accuracy are reviewed yearly by the Auditor of State.
Educating taxpayer of options for solving the issue of delinquent taxes, including entering a delinquent tax contract; providing clear explanation of the scope of consequences for not responding to notices; and more definitive information pertaining to the course of foreclosure should no attempt be made to address delinquent taxes. When foreclosure of a property is imminent, such processes should be conducted as efficiently and punctually as allowed by law. I would like to optimize communication, collaboration, and involvement across the offices of Treasurer, Prosecutor, and Auditor.
