Education Bachelors Degree in Political Science
Experience I have been a County Commissioner for 7 years and before that served as a State Representative for 8 years. Prior to public service, I owned and operated two small businesses, while serving on the Price Hill Civic Club, Price Hill Merchants Association among other community organizations. I also served on the Cincinnati Recreation Commission for 16 years as a volunteer board member.
Endorsements I have been endorsed by the Hamilton County Democratic Party. While additional endorsement processes have not begun, in the past I have been endorsed by the Matriots, Equality Cincinnati, Moms Demand Action, the Ohio League of Conservation Voters, the AFL-CIO and other labor unions.
Affiliations I serve on the Executive Committee of the Hamilton County Democratic Party and serve as a precinct executive, Chair the Hamilton County Commission on Women and Girls and the Hamilton County Addiction Response Coalition, am on the OKI, REDI and Land Bank boards, am a Board Member of the Community Learning Center Institute, am a facilitator for the National Institute for Civil Discourse, am on the board of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio, am a board member of the National Democratic County Officials, am on the advisory committee for the Cure Starts Now.
Political Philosophy I believe in building a community that offers opportunity for all to achieve prosperity. I believe that government should work for all citizens. I believe in creating systems that are open, transparent and fair.
I believe that my 7 years of service as a Hamilton County Commissioner and my 8 years as a State Representative give me the necessary experience to navigate difficult issues, understand community issues and work with others to get things done.
If elected, my top priorities will include partnerships with all 49 jurisdictions in the County to promote local economic development, promoting inclusion and equity throughout the County and ensuring that the County is accessible and welcoming to those who interact with any of our services.
