I'm 52, and have lived in Brookline since 2014. After earning a PhD in genetics and working in biomedical research for a decade, I moved into public health, with a focus on maternal and child health. I worked at the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission from 2015-2019, and currently do health policy research and evaluation primarily for state Medicaid agencies around the US. I am a mother to three young adults and stepmother to three more. Since moving to the Griggs Park neighborhood, I've served as treasurer of the Griggs Park Neighborhood Association. I enjoy Latin Dance classes through BACE with my partner, and I recently started singing with the Brookline Rock Voices chorus. I'm a TBZ member and an enthusiastic gardener and biker.
I'm committed to approaching issues with an open mind and an equity lens. As a health policy professional, I think a lot about housing and transportation - critical building blocks of public health. In Brookline, we have a chance to address these issues locally. I will welcome and seek out a variety of perspectives from Precinct 10, using multiple modes, including social media, and attending public meetings. I'm excited to deepen my understanding of my community, and learn more about everyone's concerns. As a town meeting member, my goal is to amplify the voice of my constituents and to share information about town government issues in transparent and accessible ways.
