I worked for 8 years as a civilian aerospace engineer for the USAF on cutting edge, multi-million dollar programs. I also served the last 2 years as Xenia Community Schools Board of Education President.
Volunteer/Community Service
I volunteer coach YMCA sports and I serve the 11-12 year old youth group for my church.
My top priorities are controlling and lowering our taxes, protecting our children, returning adults to the workforce and returning power to local governments. I will continue to work on measures to get rid of income taxes in Ohio and shrink the budget. I will work to keep more tax dollars in their local communities and restore local government funds. I will help return adults to the workforce by lowering rent, expanding housing options, and reducing the costs of child care so people can afford to work again.
I believe that requiring a legal ID is necessary to a fair election as well as consistent review of voter rolls. Ohio already has extremely accessible voting laws and do not need to be further changed.
The government's job is stay out of the way and let business grow. We can continue to invest in things like jobs Ohio, lowering taxes and reducing restrictive regulations to make Ohio a hospitable place for businesses to come. The government can also implement programs that reduce cost of living expenses to encourage people to seek new job opportunities.
I think the Fair School Funding Plan needs to be fully implemented to ensure that public schools are properly funded. We also need to continue to work to provide opportunities for parental choice in education. I think we also need to do more to encourage the exploration of trade programs for students. State colleges and universities need to have their costs reduced and capped.
The State should mainly work to support local governments and make sure they are fully funded for their needs. The State should generally not intervene in local government issues.
I believe that people should have freedom to choose healthcare that meets their needs as well as choose what enters their body. I also believe that all life needs to be protected.
I believe that we should do our best to care for the environment, but government regulations are restrictive and damaging. I will work to support our famers and the innovative ideas they produce to wisely use our natural resources and care for the land.
