My priorities are driving economic growth by supporting small businesses, enhancing workforce skills, and advocating fair employment; fostering social and cultural unity through dialogue, education, and anti-discrimination efforts; and ensuring healthcare access and quality of life by expanding healthcare services and supporting vulnerable populations. Rooted in the values of freedom, justice, and opportunity, my approach is about creating an inclusive Ohio where every citizen, irrespective of background, has the opportunity to thrive. By implementing focused action plans, we'll build a community that values diversity, offers robust economic opportunities, and provides a nurturing environment for all.
Aligned with the values of freedom, justice, and opportunity, I advocate for voting reforms to ensure every citizen's democratic participation. I support expanding early voting, introducing automatic voter registration, modernizing voting infrastructure, enhancing election security, and ensuring fair campaign finance. Conversely, I oppose restrictive voter ID laws, reduction of polling places, partisan gerrymandering, and disinformation campaigns. These measures are vital for a democracy that truly represents its people, making voting more accessible and secure, and ensuring that every voice is heard and every vote counts.
The government must catalyze economic growth and job creation, rooted in the values of freedom, justice, and opportunity. Key strategies include investing in comprehensive education and workforce training, supporting small businesses and entrepreneurship through incentives and streamlined regulations, and promoting innovation and technology. Further, enhancing infrastructure, creating a fair and inclusive economy with just workplace policies, fostering a healthy business environment, and supporting regional economic development are crucial. This multifaceted approach, prioritizing people and equitable policies, aims to build a resilient, inclusive economy benefiting all Ohioans.
My vision for education in Ohio prioritizes ensuring every child and young adult has access to top-quality education, from early childhood through higher learning. For K-12, this includes universal early education, equitable funding, modern facilities, teacher support, and comprehensive curricula focusing on mental health. In higher education, I aim for affordability, strong community college and vocational systems, industry partnerships, student debt relief, lifelong learning, and robust research and innovation. These goals align with our core values of opportunity, justice, and freedom, viewing education as not just a pathway but a fundamental right crucial for empowering individuals and ensuring the state's prosperity.
The state champions local autonomy, fostering an environment where local governments innovate while ensuring citizens' rights are protected. It supports local initiatives through financial aid, especially for creative projects, and offers administrative training to nurture innovative leadership. Oversight ensures legal and financial integrity and respects local ingenuity. This approach promotes local ingenuity, turning localities into policy incubators, enriching the state with diverse solutions, and ensuring that the rights and well-being of every citizen are at the forefront of local governance.
My healthcare policy is founded on the belief that quality healthcare is a fundamental right, vital for every citizen's well-being and dignity. I advocate for universal access to comprehensive healthcare services, emphasizing affordability, quality, and support for rural and underserved areas. Prioritizing mental health, preventive and long-term care, and a robust healthcare workforce are key. I'm committed to fostering healthcare innovation, safeguarding patient rights, and promoting public health initiatives. By championing these principles, I aim to ensure that every Ohioan has the freedom to make informed healthcare choices, access to quality care, and the opportunity to lead a healthy, fulfilling life.
My environmental policy champions a sustainable future, balancing economic growth with the preservation of our natural heritage. I advocate for addressing climate change through clean energy transition, conserving natural resources, and stringent pollution reduction. Promoting green technology investments, environmental education, and community-led initiatives are key. I emphasize collaboration across sectors, protecting public health, supporting sustainable agriculture, and bolstering community resilience against environmental changes. This comprehensive approach aims not just to protect nature but to secure a prosperous, healthy future for all Ohioans, ensuring our environment sustains us today and for generations to come.
The government plays a crucial role in combating discrimination, upholding justice, equality, and dignity for all. It enforces anti-discrimination laws across sectors like employment, housing, and healthcare, protecting individuals from bias based on race, gender, or other characteristics. The government also promotes civil rights education, monitors compliance, and supports communities affected by discrimination. It leads in promoting diversity and inclusion, regularly reviews policies, addresses systemic discrimination, and fosters interagency collaboration. By these actions, the government ensures a society where each individual can prosper, free from discrimination, embodying the nation's core values.
