As a candidate for the Ohio House of Representatives, my priorities are rooted in building a future where everyone in our district can thrive. I’m committed to fully funding public schools, ending the voucher system that diverts resources from public education, and increasing support for technical education. Beyond education, I’m focused on creating good-paying jobs, protecting workers' rights, and ensuring that our economy works for everyone, not just the wealthy few. I’m passionate about expanding healthcare access, particularly in our rural communities, and safeguarding the environment for future generations. My goal is to work across the aisle to deliver practical solutions that bring hope and unity to our district and beyond.
I’m dedicated to ensuring that our voting system is accessible and fair for all eligible voters. This includes common-sense reforms to voter ID laws to make voting easier for everyone who is eligible, implementing automatic voter registration, and expanding the availability of drop boxes based on the population size of each county. I also support same-day registration to make sure that no eligible voter is left out on Election Day. These measures aim to ensure that every voice is heard in our democracy while maintaining the integrity of our elections.
My approach to bringing more jobs to Ohio focuses on investing in workforce development, supporting small businesses, and attracting new industries. By expanding technical education and vocational training, we can equip Ohioans with the skills needed for high-demand jobs. I'll work to foster innovation, improve infrastructure, and create strategic incentives that make Ohio an attractive destination for businesses. Through public-private partnerships and promoting local manufacturing, we can build a stronger, more resilient economy that creates good-paying jobs across the state.
My aspiration for K-12 education in Ohio is to create a system where every student has access to high-quality, fully funded public schools that prepare them for success in life. I’m committed to ending the voucher system that diverts resources from public education, increasing support for technical education, and making teacher pay competitive with neighboring states. I also want to implement mentorship programs for new teachers and ensure that all educators have the resources they need to thrive. My goal is to build a public education system that empowers every child, no matter where they live.
I support the principle of home rule in Ohio, respecting the rights of local citizens to choose their own leaders and govern their communities. Local control is important, but I also believe the state has a responsibility to step in when a local government isn't effectively serving all its citizens, is creating undue hardships, or is misusing public funds. This balanced approach ensures that local governments can operate independently while still being held accountable to the broader interests of their communities.
I believe everyone should have access to quality healthcare, free from discrimination. We need to address rising insurance premiums and ensure that insurance companies cover essential services while prioritizing patients' needs. I also support expanding healthcare to include comprehensive mental health services across Ohio. This approach helps guarantee that all Ohioans receive the care they need without facing unnecessary financial or discriminatory barriers.
I believe it's important to protect Ohio's natural beauty while also meeting our energy needs. We should take a practical, science-driven approach to energy production that balances environmental stewardship with our energy requirements. Additionally, we have a responsibility to ensure the energy sector adheres to environmental safety standards to safeguard our communities and protect our natural resources for future generations.
I firmly believe that allowing discrimination to persist undermines the fabric of our society. Injustice against one person is an injustice against us all. It is the duty of our government to uphold and protect the rights of every individual. That’s why I stand in strong support of passing the Ohio Fairness Act, which will ensure equal rights and respect for all Ohioans.
