BUDGET: We cannot continue to have zero-increase budgets. SCS is tops in the state but we are losing teachers and staff (27% turnover) at an alarming rate. With the growth of our county, we’ve got to draw in the best. We need to continue to invest in our SRO, STEM, and CTE programs to set our students up for future success.
I have been meeting with PTOs around District 6. These have been very productive to gain insights on school specific issues and areas of concern for the future. I see an opportunity to create a forum where these critical support groups can share learnings with the ultimate goal of improving morale and maximizing collective efforts.
