Promotion of public health initiatives through prioritizing equity in healthcare. Creating legislation that supports accessibility for necessary medical services. Expanding legislation that supports a shift in drug abuse intervention by placing the focus on removing barriers to mental health treatment through options that encourage participation in treatment such as tele-health visits, medication assisted treatment and access to harm reduction services. Prioritizing protections against legislative overreach in medicine, creating sanctuary and autonomy within the Physician patient relationship. Introducing much needed insurance reform. Improving care access and coordination for passport/waiver recipients.
It is crucial to the integrity of democracy to support the rights of all eligible Ohioans to vote by facilitating a smooth process and removing barriers. I support automatic voter registration, same day voter registration and expanded early voting options and locations. We also need consistent less confusing ID requirements that expand the acceptable forms of ID allowed. More than one drop box location in any county would certainly allow for an increase in turnout for those with either transportation barriers or limited travel time. Allowing for curbside voting for a variety of needs in addition to physical needs. The Board of Elections should include self addressed envelopes with postage for absentee ballots.
Expanding on pro-growth policies and initiatives through inclusion grants, increasing broadband access in rural areas, supporting opportunities that increase minority banking and financial resource, strengthening state workforce programs, creating a pipeline for displaced talent and skilled labor. Also placing a greater focus on enhancing educational opportunities and access including additional support for tech-education. We can create benefits that encourage the retention and expansion of manufacturing jobs. We also need to create reliable energy policies that encourage economic growth, stability and job creation.
To productively collaborate across perspectives to ensure quality educational access spanning from pre K-12 into higher education including tech-school and vocational training. Quality education opportunities are the key to thriving communities. Early childhood education creates a healthy foundation for all future learning, behavior and health. Modifying the approach with an aim towards strengthening public education by creating opportunities within the public domain that facilitate an expansion in access that has consistent transparency and accountability.
Local policies offer the opportunity for people to choose policies that best support the needs specific to that community. It affords necessary choice. However, policies that deviate from generality as it relates to ordinances that result in special privilege or policies that inhibit free exchange through controls, mandates ordinances would need to be addressed to reduce the potential for favoritism or discrimination. Variances to ordinances granted should be supported by sound rationale for the accommodation. At times state officials can help prevent exclusionary interests and focus on a healthier broader state economy.
Public health and public health concerns are a primary focus. Prioritizing children, seniors and those struggling with chronic and or disabling conditions including mental health diagnosis need access to care. Sustaining and enhancing medicaid to ensure comprehensive coverage, especially for those who are unable to access a benefits package, is key to improving public health. It prioritizes expanding affordability and access, with a particular emphasis on children, seniors and mental health services. The goal is to create a robust healthcare system that addresses the diverse needs of the population, fostering overall well-being.
We need to promote sustainability and economic growth by implementing responsible natural resource management that aims to preserve the environment while fostering job creation. We need to continue a collaborative effort and strategy that envisions a future in which economic prosperity aligns with environmental stewardship. We need to strive, through diligence and considerate decision making, to encourage a harmonious and resilient relationship between society, nature and the economy.
In Ohio , the government's commitment to ensuring no person is discriminated against is underscored by the recognition and support of the Civil Rights Act. Through the Civil Rights Act and existing anti-discrimination laws, the state should take a firm stance on guaranteeing equal rights, irrespective of race, color, religion, sex, national origin or any other protected characteristic. The government's role extends to actively promoting awareness, enforcing legislation and fostering an inclusive environment, ensuring that every individual in Ohio is afforded the same rights and opportunities; free of discrimination. Advancing equity and equal opportunity is the responsibility of our government.
