1) Codify the rights and protections that we as Americans hold dear. The Supreme Court has recently overturned legislation that protected our fundamental freedoms. It is up to Congress to codify those freedoms into legislation that will restore those rights. 2) Fix our broken immigration system, which has created a crisis at the border, and made it difficult for people to attain citizenship through legal channels. 3) Fix our economy, which has made it difficult for the average American to afford the bare necessities in life, even when they work full-time. People should not have to struggle to afford a place to live when they work 40 hours a week. Even with two or more jobs, it can be difficult to afford a place to live and buy groceries.
I have stood against Gerrymandering and other forms of voter suppression, such as Voter ID Laws, Voter Roll Purges, Disenfranchisement of Felons, Limited Voting Hours and Locations, Voter Intimidation, Restrictive Voter Registration Laws, Misinformation and Absentee Ballot Restrictions. I will continue to fight against these voter suppression efforts for our communities in D.C.
We must fix our broken immigration system, which has created a crisis at the border, and made it difficult for people to attain citizenship through legal channels. I believe that we need to establish a pathway to citizenship for individuals who have been living in the US for decades. Children who are raised in America should have the opportunity to become productive tax-paying citizens. Some employers take advantage of the dysfunctional US immigration system, by paying those who have not yet attained their citizenship under the table. This undermines our economy and allows for the exploitation of workers who might otherwise be paying into our tax base and social security system. This creates a profit motive that only benefits big businesses
My top priorities would be to protect American interests, and to protect the right of all people to exist on earth. The US must demand and enforce fair rules of war in every case where our money or our soldiers are involved. We should not be active participants in conflicts that harm innocent civilians (women, children, and the elderly). Our goal should be first to protect American interests, and then to bring peace. What happened on October 7, 2023, in Israel was a horrible attack by Hamas. Israel has a right to defend itself and focus on returning hostages to their families. We must also stand against Netanyahu's war on innocent Palestinian people, and support Ukraine's efforts to remain independent.
I will fight against the climate crisis. This is one of the great challenges of our lifetime, and the clock is ticking. To avoid irreparable damage, experts tell us that we need to reduce carbon emission 45% (versus 2010 levels) by 2030, and we’re not even close. Rising sea levels, extreme heat and drought, more extreme weather events, increased fires, and other adverse effects will continue to disrupt our lives if we do not transition from fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas, to renewable energy sources. Gas and oil use contributes to climate change, but fracking to increase extraction yields in eastern Ohio and other areas leads to more methane in the air we breathe, drinking water contamination, fish kills, and even earthquakes.
Healthcare costs are outrageous. It is a travesty to go to work every day, pay insurance premiums every month, and be prevented from going to the doctor due to high deductibles.

The cost of health care is rising faster than the cost of inflation, and the managed care system has gotten between the patient and his or her physician. Essentially, we have allowed managed care systems to be the supreme determining factor in what healthcare solutions to employ. This prevents the opportunity for introducing medical advancements and innovative treatment methods.

As your congresswoman, I will work to protect all citizens by supporting a robust data-driven healthcare system that will protect us from future health emergencies.
Over the last decade, the Supreme Court and courts across the country have dismantled and gutted crucial aspects of the Voting Rights Act, opening the doors to the reverberation of discriminatory voter suppression laws. Decades of a lack of access to employment, healthcare, housing, and quality education were exasperated by the global pandemic, and court rulings. Congress must codify laws that guard against discrimination and ensure equity for all citizens, no matter their age, gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

Training and Experience Nathaniel’s past jobs and experiences are colored with leadership and perseverance. For the better part of a decade, he represented his classmates, school, and community by serving first as Class President from 7th grade through 11th grade, and then as a senior, he had the honor of serving as Student Body President, the first person of color to do so in school history (over 100 years). He also had the privilege to serve as Chapter President of his fraternity at the University of Cincinnati.
Volunteer/Community Service Nathaniel has been able to help many people by his continued commitment to the service of others. Leadership roles within various organizations and businesses have allowed him to volunteer and serve those most in need in his community.
My top priorities are multiple in nature but all of equal importance. Protecting American Democracy has never been more important with the likes of Warren Davidson who so easily broke the oath he swore to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States of America. We must ensure that women everywhere in the United States have the right to make their own medical decisions. We took care of business here in Ohio back in November, now we have to take care of business in Congress. I am committed to passing common sense gun solutions that will make a truly meaningful difference in the lives of our children and the lives of all Ohioans. I believe that Universal Healthcare is a human right and I will work to ensure that every citizen has.
I believe that voting is a sacred duty that many of our ancestors did not have the privilege to do so. In recent events, all across the country there have been attempts to suppress the right to vote. These efforts have largely affected predominantly racially diverse and densely populated areas. Nineteen states passed laws restricting voting rights in 2021 alone. Unmistakably, I do believe that the security of elections is of the utmost importance to ensure that we are fairly and equally represented. However, we should be focused on extending the vote to as many people as possible because everyone deserves to have a say in how their lives are to be governed.
I support a complete overhaul of our immigration system — including a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants in the U.S., and due process in our immigration system. Many of our own families came to America as immigrants from other parts of the world. They came here seeking opportunity, freedom from oppressive government, safety for their families and the hope that their children and descendants will have a better life. People entering the United States today do so for the same exact reasons as our ancestors. Our immigration system must prioritize dignity, fairness, and opportunity for immigrants seeking a better life in the United States.
My priorities on foreign policy and national security is to first safegaurd the citizens of the United States and their interests. Every year we as citizens provide billions upon billions of tax dollars to the United States governement. I will ensure that American workers hard earned money is being put to better use by funding programs that will benefit the American people rather than the military industrial complex. I believe we must support our allies in Ukraine as the defense of democratic ideals are of the utmost importance. However, I do believe an immediate cease-fire is called for in the Gaza Strip. The prosecution of the Israeli war against Hamas has been badly handled and has caused essentially the genocide of an entire people.
We are failing future generations if we do not transition from fossil fuels to truly renewable energy sources. Advancing progressive climate policy can be made possible by supporting community solar energy projects, grid-enhancing technologies, and many other green projects. We as a nation must promote the broader use of renewable energy sources such as wind, hydroelectricity, geothermal, and solar power in everyday use. Not only will this save our planet, but building and operating these new green energy sectors will create thousands of jobs for American workers. Together we must take the necessary measures to protect our children & future generations from the deadly impact of climate change.
The United States is the most prosperous country on the face of the planet, yet still, one of the only advanced nations in the world that fails to provide universal health care to its citizens. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us just how cruel and irrational employer-based private insurance is, leaving millions of newly unemployed Americans without care when they need it most. Nearly 30 million Americans are still uninsured today in 2023.I believe in passing the Medicare For All Act to guarantee health care to all people living in the United States or another Act like it. It’s long past time to take the for-profit motive out of our healthcare system and ensure that every person has access to the care and treatment they deserve.
The government should be more proactive in prosecuting hate crimes to ensure that no particular person or group can be targeted for persecution. We have seen that even here in 2024, despite the progress that we have made as a country, people are being targeted and even killed. More must be done to protect all people in this nation from discrimination.
