The organizations and affiliations guiding my decision making need to be close to the issues — institutions doing the work and the people affected by it.
My first responsibility is to the residents of District 2, to seek their input about issues close to their hearts. I want to stay engaged, available, and committed to open-minded intellectual curiosity.
Personal connections I would use are the Veterans Council, Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance, the case collaboration groups convened by the Dept. of Health and Human Services, the Ottawa County Dept. of Public Health, Community Mental Health of Ottawa County, Community Action House, and Ottawa Food. They are all well acquainted with some of the biggest challenges facing people in Ottawa County
