1. Retaining and obtaining quality teachers, determining ways and means to keep them, and continuing to provide them with beneficial professional development. We are in a competitive market with other school systems to hire the best teachers and to keep the great ones that we have. By having Middle Tennessee State University in our backyard and most of their student teachers doing their student teaching classes in our schools, we need to make sure we continue to get the best ones.

Work with the central office personnel, administrators, and student-teacher supervising teachers, to ensure that they realize the importance of their jobs to help and support the student teachers that will encourage them to come to the Rutherford County Schools for employment. In addition, develop a new teacher support program that provides new teachers with will pair them with experienced teachers who will give them needed support. Work with the Director, Central Office staff, and school administrators, along with research, to provide our schools with the latest and best educational programs. I have had and evaluated great schools. The reasons they were great were due to the teachers. We have to get and keep great teachers.
