VOTE411 Voter Guide

US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 14

Each state receives representation in the US House of Representatives in proportion to the size of its population but is entitled to at least one representative. There are currently 435 representatives, a number fixed by law since 1911. Starting in 2024, NC has 14 members of the US House; the NC State Legislature changed the district boundaries in October, 2025. The House shares with the Senate responsibility for all lawmaking within the United States. For an act of Congress to be valid, both houses must approve an identical document. Each representative serves a two-year term. There are no term limits.

I’m honest, smart, and willing to do hard things. I don’t accept “because it’s always been that way” as an answer. Our government should be fair and accountable, right now it too often isn’t. My background in behavioral science and public health shapes how I approach this work by looking at how systems function and who they leave behind. I’ve spent years helping people understand how policies affect their daily lives, especially when it comes to fair representation and accountability. I’ve also led organizations and a small business, which required careful decision-making, responsible use of resources, and accountability to the people who depended on that work. I believe voters should be in charge, and I will work to restore voter power.
The most important action I would work to accomplish in my first year is passing national fair map legislation to end partisan gerrymandering. When politicians are allowed to choose their voters, elections stop being competitive and accountability breaks down. A very close second is passing a working families tax cut. The Patriotic Millionaires have a tax plan (with bills already drafted) that ensure the first $100K every family earns is tax free. It’s paid for by raising taxes on people earning more than $1M per year.
Too many Americans are working hard and still struggling to afford housing, healthcare, childcare, and everyday necessities. I would pursue economic policies that put more money back in people’s pockets and lower the costs that families can’t avoid. That includes eliminating federal income tax on the first $100,000 a household earns, strengthening access to affordable healthcare, and investing in housing and infrastructure to reduce long-term costs. I also believe those multimillionaires and large corporations should contribute their fair share. A healthy economy is one where people can meet their basic needs, plan for the future, and feel secure.
Reducing polarization requires restoring accountability. When elections are uncompetitive, officials are rewarded for appealing to extremes instead of the majority. Yet most Americans agree on many issues: nearly 70% believe gerrymandering should be illegal, a majority support raising taxes on large corporations, and most believe immigration is good for the country. Still, Congress often produces polarizing outcomes because voters have little leverage. I will prioritize fair map reforms that make elections competitive and encourage representatives to listen to their constituents. I will also lead with transparency, evidence-based decision-making, and a willingness to engage across differences so government can focus on solving real problems
Yes. I will prioritize protecting clean water and strengthening climate resilience. Safe drinking water is a public health necessity, and no community should be exposed to contamination because of where they live. That includes addressing PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” which have polluted water systems across NC. I support enforcing environmental protections, holding polluters accountable, and investing in modern water infrastructure to prevent contamination to reduce long-term health risks. I will also support policies that help communities prepare for and recover from extreme weather, including flooding, heat, and severe storms. Investing in resilient infrastructure protects lives, lowers future disaster costs, and helps communities adapt.
Democracy works best when you have real choices and a real voice in what happens next. Too often, elections feel decided before a single vote is cast, and that makes it harder for people to trust government or believe their participation matters. You deserve representatives who have to listen to you, explain their decisions, and earn your support. When leaders are accountable, it becomes possible to make progress on the issues that affect daily life—like affordability, healthcare, clean water, and safe communities. This campaign is about fairness and transparency. It’s about making sure the rules work for voters, not just for politicians. Democracy works best when voters hold the power.
