I’m running for the Ligonier Valley School Board because I believe every child deserves a high-quality education that prepares them for success. I want to help ensure that our schools provide a well-rounded curriculum, and support our teachers, and staff. I also believe in responsible budgeting and transparent decision-making, so our community stays informed and involved.
Balancing conflicting community views is a key part of being an effective school board member. a board members should:
1. Listen to All Sides and engage with parents, teachers, students, and community members to understand their concerns.
2. Prioritize Student Success because all decisions should be what best supports students’ education and well-being.
3. Rely on Data and Expert Input – Use research, expert recommendations, and school performance data to inform choices, rather than personal opinions or political pressures.
4. Seek Common Ground – Even when views differ, look for shared values.
5. Be transparent and follow policies and guidelines.
Core academic programs - will help prepare students with knowledge and skills they will need to succeed in life.
Technology - It plays a critical role in modern education and enhances learning opportunities.
Facilities - Ensuring high-quality facilities is essential for student success, safety and community pride.
Athletics & extracurricular opportunities - These are crucial for fostering well rounded students, building leadership skills, and promoting physical snd emotional well being.
Trauma Informed Care Plan and training because well equipped teachers and administrators trained to recognize and support students is key.

Qualifications
Current school board member. Retired teacher. Active community member.
To continue the positive progression in the school district that we have started...transparency, teacher support, parental involvement, fiscal responsibility, raising our educational levels especially in core classes.
We hear everyone out and balance all input with the students and parents best interest in mind as well as providing fiscal responsibility to the majority of our constituents that don't have children in the schools.
Core academic programming is first because our district is lacking in core. Vocational opportunities is next because we live in a rural/agricultural community. Athletics would be third as we work thru expanding our sports department and remodeling our fields. I think the arts are tied with sports. We need to boost these areas in our district. Technology is last on the list because I don't believe it is a sufficient way to educate PLUS because we are so rural we have home connection issues.
Bullying and discipline hands down! Both need work!

Qualifications
I bring a strong foundation in leadership and strategic decision-making with an MBA in Business Administration and over 15 years of experience in financial services compliance. My background equips me to navigate complex challenges and advocate for the best interests of students, staff, & community.
I've been attending board meetings for over the past year. When the current board majority took power, I saw a shift—one that moved away from prioritizing students and toward a more politically driven agenda. The focus became less about what’s best for our kids and our community and more about ideology and personal agenda.
I’m running to refocus our district on what truly matters: academic excellence, responsible leadership, and student success. I want to ensure that our schools remain a place where families want to move, where our children have top-tier educational opportunities, and where our teachers are trusted and supported.
When faced with controversial issues and differing community perspectives, I believe it's essential to make informed decisions grounded in facts, thoughtful analysis, and open dialogue. Listening to community members is a critical part of the process, as their input provides valuable insight into the impact of potential actions. Ultimately, I will weigh all factors—including risks and long-term implications—with a focus on what best supports the success and well-being of students, staff, and the broader community.

I support strengthening social-emotional learning (SEL) as a foundational part of creating a safe and supportive school environment. By equipping students with these tools, we prepare them to communicate effectively and collaborate with others with confidence, respect, and emotional intelligence.
