School Directors are elected on behalf of the community to oversee the education of students in their jurisdiction. They serve as agents of the state legislature. They are responsible for curriculum and instruction management, all finances including development and monitoring of annual budgets and audits, and levying of taxes and issuance of debt obligations when necessary; overseeing personnel; legal matters; management of facilities; and transportation of students as appropriate.

Why are you running for the School Board?

How will you approach decisions on controversial issues when community members have conflicting views about the actions the School Board should take?

In what order would you, as a potential school board member, place the following priorities for your district: athletics, core academic programming, extracurricular opportunities (music, art, clubs, etc.), facilities maintenance/expansion, and technology development? Please explain.

What policies or programs do you advocate that would foster a school atmosphere where everyone feels physically, emotionally, and intellectually safe?

Qualifications B. of S. Pennsylvania State University in Marketing- Former board member and currently on North Belle Vernon Coucil with a combined experience of close to 20 years.
To provide the best education possible for our students. They are our future. Insure we keep up with the latest trends and technological advancements. Give the students every opportunity for growth and advancement. Move the district forward in a positive direction.
I will be proactive and do my homework and research to make the best possible deciscion always with the students interest in mind. I have to be open minded, look at both sides of the equation and make a decision on my facts and findings then commit to my decision.
Core academic programming,technology development which is always changing in todays society, we cant get lost,athletics the discipline ,work ethic, team work , etc. I still use them all in my life today. Extracurricular opportunities is in our everyday fabric of life. Facilities Maintenance, I put last because it takes a lot of planning and time to make sure we make the right decisions.
Have school resource officers, security, and metal detectors. Have our Administrators and teachers promote a positive safe environment.
