Biographical Information

1. What skills, knowledge, and experience do you have to help you be an effective member of Borough Council?

2. Why are you running for Borough Council?

3. What are your top 3 priorities should you be elected to Borough Council?

4. Fluoridation in public water supplies has been studied by many agencies over many years. In Oct 2024, a federal court ruled that fluoride exposure poses a hazard to human health and ordered the EPA to respond. In Pennsylvania, decisions about fluoride in the water supplies are assigned to local government. What are your thoughts about the best way to manage this at the local level?

Qualifications Strategic thinker with a focus on providing clear, measurable results. Proven ability to refine processes in a way that increases productivity and effectively utilizes available resources. Experienced in considering the broad and long-term impact of decisions.
As a student, working parent, and active volunteer, I bring both personal and professional experience to this role. My background in purchasing, logistics, event planning, and nonprofit work has taught me to manage budgets, improve processes, and work collaboratively. I understand how to set priorities, manage resources effectively, and identify practical solutions that yield tangible results. I recognize the value of inclusive decision-making and practical, resident-focused leadership.
As a long-time resident and active volunteer, I want to serve on Borough Council to help guide local decisions that are beneficial to all residents. I believe in transparent, inclusive leadership, where decisions are made with consideration for both immediate and long-term impacts. I know we can make meaningful progress while maintaining the traditions that make Wyomissing so unique. My work on the Wyomissing Recreation Board, chairing several of our long-standing community programs, along with my time volunteering in Wyo Schools and with the Hills Social Committee, has deepened my understanding of the various people, backgrounds and needs that are present in Wyomissing. I want to help ensure that all residents feel heard and represented.
1. Improve Processes: Identify areas of opportunity to ensure programs and operations are efficient, well-coordinated, and deliver the best possible value to residents. 2. Transparency: Make Council decisions more accessible with clear, timely communication so that residents feel engaged and informed. 3. Inclusive Decision-Making: Work to ensure that Council decisions reflect a full range of perspectives so that all residents feel represented and valued.
Input from residents should guide this decision, so the first step should be to gather feedback from Wyomissing residents. Next, we should seek out the full scope of changes that would be required to remove the fluoride. Both of our Borough water supplies have levels of fluoride present but below the recommended level. With resident input and current information from both water authorities, a data-informed decision should be made by Council, followed by an honest explanation of the outcome.

Qualifications Served on Borough Council for 8 Years. Currently Council President. 35 Years as a Volunteer with the Wyomissing Fire Department.
Being born and raised in Wyomissing, my knowledge and experience with the Borough is quite extensive. For the past 8 years I am proud to serve on Borough Council and have been elected by my peers to be President of Council for the past 4 years. Serving as a volunteer fire fighter with Wyomissing for 35 plus years, finally being appointed by Borough Council as the Assistant Fire Chief, has been a passion of mine and a real labor of love. I currently serve as chair of the Fire & Police Committee.
Eight years ago, I saw a need for genuine, resident-centered representation and ran a successful write in campaign. Honestly, I knew I could make a difference and have gone to great lengths to be attentive to the needs of the Borough and its residents. I have actively solicited constituent input and have worked hard to address the issues in a timely manner. I have been complimented and thanked for my professionalism, which I find truly gratifying. In an era of extreme polarization, I am neither political nor polarized. My responsibility and philosophy of government are not political issues, but rather they are Wyomissing issues, and I have been truly honored to serve. That's why I am seeking another term as YOUR Council Member.

Continued improvement in the area of economic development and intergovernmental cooperation is key to continued managed growth in Wyomissing without compromising the lifestyle of our beautiful community. Wyomissing has a history of low property taxes with more services than other municipalities. We have no long-term debt, and our pension plans are fully funded. These accomplishments can only be achieved through sound professional attitudes and skills, while not compromising quality of life.
The Borough of Wyomissing obtains their water from two different sources with differing opinions on the use of fluoride in our water, one with and one without. When Council was approached on the subject nearly 3 yrs ago, both residents and medical professionals recommended that fluoridation continue. With more updated information from professionals and newer products containing fluoride, I believe that it may time to revisit the issue after receiving input from our residents and professionals.
