1. What skills, knowledge, and experience do you have to help you be an effective member of Borough Council?

4. Fluoridation in public water supplies has been studied by many agencies over many years. In Oct 2024, a federal court ruled that fluoride exposure poses a hazard to human health and ordered the EPA to respond. In Pennsylvania, decisions about fluoride in the water supplies are assigned to local government. What are your thoughts about the best way to manage this at the local level?

Since I moved to Berks County, specifically to West Reading, in 2009, I have been engaged in the community. Whether working at a non-profit or local business or serving on a board, my interest and focus has always been on the community. Working as an Executive Assistant at a vibrant local business and a respected education institution, I learned from the Presidents I served how to represent the people you serve. I also have experience with budget management, team building and coalition building.
I love living in West Reading. There is both vibrant culture and peaceful nature nearby. It's affordable, welcoming, and safe. I have friendly and interesting neighbors, diverse in background, education, age, and experiences. I am running because I want everyone who lives in West Reading to have as excellent an experience living here as I do, and I want everyone in the county to enjoy the amenities offered in our borough. As I go door to door to meet others in West Reading, I hope to hear what you love, so we can brainstorm how to maximize it, and what you struggle with, so we can find ways to ease that.
1. As a citizen it seems like West Reading is run well. I want to maintain that while creating transparency, so more citizens can feel confident in the leaders of our great community. 2. West Reading is home to an amazing array of businesses and restaurants that serve those of us who live here and well beyond. I want to keep the business district thriving. 3. I see the strength of our borough in its diversity. I want everyone who lives here to feel welcome in West Reading as much as I do.
As a parent, I have valued flouride in the water to keep my son's teeth strong. That said, I know not everyone agrees with me, and I understand the science evolves and the research may have developed over the years. I want to talk with residents to hear their thoughts about fluoridation, and I would like to read more research, to make sure I am coming to the table as aware as possible.
